About the event

A bespoke bushcraft experience by the North Yorkshire Coast

The Barn gives us the opportunity to expand our workshop style experiences-By exploring the local Flint found on the coast this coastal experience will be dedicated to primitive technology - Flint tools

Over three days we will be knapping, crafting and exploring primitive technology broken up by intermittent foraging and wild food excursions...

What's Coverd:

° Introduction to fire lighting - Here we will explore primitive fires and a range of ways to manage different fires depending on what we needed

°Primitive fire starting technology

°Winter fires - Cooking fire & Trail fire

°Flint Knapping workshop - Flint foraging

°Hammer stone section - Antler tools

°Core stone - Levalloisian Techniques

°Producing flakes

°Arrow head making

°Simplistic Bushcraft flint knives

°Primitive glue and natural cordage making

°Mesolithic style pottery

°natural clay and temper

°Fireing clay

°Seasonal wild foods foraging

° Detail about Toxic plants, berry's and fungi in Britain

°Foraging laws and the county side code

°setting up a Traditional Tipi lodge

°Primitive fishing hooks

°An introduction on Natural navigation - The native mindset

°Fire side chat about Aboriginal Britain-Into Wilderness Bushcraft and coastal wildlife

°Bread baking and foraging for spring greens

° Amadou Tile is made by each adult attending the course to take home.

Small group size with a maximum of 10 guests to ensure we create a subtle atmosphere in the woods, and you get a very high interaction time with the instructor.

A full kit list is given out on booking, but you won't need much more than a sleeping bag and warm clothing.

The Barn at Eastington is available to book accommodation through. A cabin would be an option for additional cost.

Otherwise there us a private camping field ( You will need your own tent) Or the option of staying in out shared Tipi lodge.
