About the event

For our traditional bushcrfat experiance, join Into Wilderness for three days in Scotland wild forests.

As part of our Wild Britian bushcraft experiance, this course is desingned to give our clients a deeper understanding of Bushcraft skills, primitive living and nature.

Living with Nature is truly rewarding...

Over three days we will set up a simplistic camp and explore the forest and Loch

Applying relevant bushcraft skills and an aboriginal breath of knowledge through out the course

What's Covered :

° Setting up a simplistic camp and Tipi lodge

°Fire side chats about the history of primitive technology and Aboriginal bushcraft

° Primitive fire craft - Bow drill set manufacture - natural cordage

°Flint and Iorn pyrite - Fire by sparks

° Natural tinder - Tinder selection and Coiling tinder for ember

°Wild foods foraging workshop - A journey into the forest and by the Loch gathering Wild foods

° Fungi foraging - Fungi for fire craft

°Wild foods feats

°Wild game butchery - Roe deer butchery - Small game butchery

°Roe deer hide tanning

°Natural shelter building - Lean to, A frame and wick up / safety & Sustainability when building. The option to ditch a conventional sleeping bag, make a natural bed and sleep in a shelter is something we encourage bur you can take comfort in our Tipi lodge aswell

°Primitive fishing hooks - Bone tools - A opportunity to fish by for Trout by the Loch

°Plant fiber cordage

°Spruce root cordage production

°Primitive technology including Simple fishing hooks, Cordage and bone tools

°Flint Knapping workshop - from flint selection, hammer stone identification and antler production to core blades and manufacturering of flit flakes

°Amadu making - Amadu leather tile ready to take away

°Tracking - Reading ground sign, native tracks and read a trail

Through picking up a trail we will navigate through the forest applying knowledge around Red deer and local wildlife to be able to find our way

° Foraging sustainability and good practice - a personal foraging experience where we will cook up our findings in a wild foods feast - Through out the course we'll depend highly on our gathered wild foods, putting to practice native know how of wild foods found in the forest

°Natural navigation - Reading the landscape for a more rounded approach to modern navigation techniques

°woodcraft - selecting suitable wood, carving technique and Safety

°Spoon carving - An eavining spent carving and talking about all things Aboriginal Britain

°Use of the axe - how to fell a tree

°Knife law and safety

°Primitive glue making

°Salmon ponassing

°Salmon skin tanning

°Back country cooking and Tipi hot tent camping

°Wild foods cook up - Bread making and spring salads

°A wild foods recipi guide

° Three days of sweet bliss in the woods

°Journeying skills - Learn practical bushcraft skills used when on a Journey in the Nature

Small group size with a maximum of 10 guests to ensure we create a subtle atmosphere in the woods, and you get a very high interaction time with the instructor.

A full kit list is given out on booking, but you won't need much more than a sleeping bag and warm clothing.

This course is fully catered starting with a exploration of the local area and camp set up on the Friday, and finishing with a late lunch on Sunday. Please inform us of any dietary requirements, we're happy to cater to any needs.

Due the involved nature of this course, we don't feel its suitable to under 16 year olds (please ask if you have any questions)
