About the event
On this coastal bushcraft course you'll explore the Yorkshire chalk Coast
From our Camp at Danes Dyke nature reserve (An ancient woodland) we will be joining the chalk coast for a foraging workshop by the sea.
We will be on the move for most of this trip so be prepared for a tiring but rewarding day -
Along the journey we'll be collecting flint nodules for our flint knapping workshop later that day and enjoying a wild cook up benith the chalk crags. Starting our fire by primitive means...
You will be learning about the eb and flow of the tide, coastal wildlife, wild foods, Primitive bushcraft skills and ancient crafts.
Finally we will make our camp at Danes Dike, an ancient woodland at the top of Flamborough cliffs. There we'll explore an crafts around the fire -

°An introduction to the native fire, students will explore bow drill, hand drills and fire by flint
°Primitive fishing kits - Bone hooks and natural fiber - A small Hazel fish trap

°Carving & Woodcraft workshop

° Camp fire chats about the history of each primitive method used - An evening ending with a chat about Aboriginal bushcraft
Small group size with a maximum of 10 guests to ensure we create a subtle atmosphere in the woods, and you get a very high interaction time with the instructor.
A full kit list is given out on booking, but you won't need much more than a sleeping bag and warm clothing.
This course is fully catered starting on the Friday morning with camp set up and finishing with lunch on Saturday. Please inform us of any dietary requirements, we're happy to cater to any needs.
Due the involved nature of this course, we don't feel its suitable to under 16 year olds (please ask if you have any questions)
