With a focus on flint tools found within the Peak District nd their associated sites, some of which were descoverd just over the hill, this course aims to explore the oldest craft in the world - Flint Knapping...
A full day course focused on flintknapping, stone tools and ancient ways! The flintknapping course is a deeper dive into learning lithics than most ansesteral skills courses out there.
Its an fantastic opportunity to really get to grips with this challenging, but fulfilling craft. We'll start with the basics of stone and tool selection, which is really useful if you're new to the craft or experienced. Then you'll choose from one of several origional prehistoric artifacts from within the Pesak District to replecate using methods of making stone tools such as pressure flaking, used to make arrowheads.
